Services that I may provide as your Doula

  • Provide the opportunity to speak openly and frankly about dying

  • Assist you with creating an advanced health care directive, POLST, a contact list of people or agencies to be notified after your death and/or other documents needed at end of life. Witness documents if needed.

  • Discuss and support end-of-life care planning

  • Drive to and/or take notes during Dr. appointments

  • Help you with organizing and downsizing

  • Develop a plan for how your end-of-life space looks, feels and sounds

  • Incorporate traditions or create new rituals to mark special moments

  • Assist with compliance and navigation of Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) process.

  • Discuss the many options for the disposition of your remains and help you to prepare and decide how your body will be stewarded.

  • Bring a focused and intuitive presence to the bedside

  • Assist with physical and practical care to ease the burden on caregivers

  • Be with you at times when I can provide respite for your caregivers

  • Explain the signs and symptoms of the dying process

  • Process the emotions and experiences with loved ones

  • Do guided meditations, play music, or read for clients in their last days

  • Utilize relaxation techniques to assist with comfort from pain and anxiety including guided meditations, music or nature sounds and readings.

  • Help you with planning of a memorials, celebrations of life, and remembrance ceremonies. Serve as your celebrant if requested

  • If present during or called after time of death, can assist family with phone calls, preparation and rituals, body preparation or anointing

  • Support loved ones through the early stages of grieving
